That is highly worrisome. That is why we see people from all works of life and Professionals; Engineers, Lawyers, Media Practitioners, Medical doctors and host of others coming together. The epoch-making event, which draws political leaders, technocrats and professionals from all works of life across the senatorial district featured the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, as guest speaker, alongside the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, and Chief Jide Ojuko, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ogun State, Traditional Rulers, Baales and other well meaning Awori Indigens.

Delivering a keynote address titled 'The Power of Internal Coherence in Securing External Support: A Roadmap to Achieving Ogun West Governorship Ambition in 2027,' Senator Bamidele charged political and professional elites in Ogun West to set aside personal ambitions and embrace collective purpose.

“Internal coherence is not optional; it is indispensable. Unity is political capital. It unlocks party confidence, elite endorsements, cross-district alliances and statewide voter legitimacy,” Bamidele declared.

He described Ogun West as a “peculiar case of political exclusion,” noting that Ogun West has never produced a governor since the creation of the state in 1976, despite decades of democratic governance.

“There is no denying the reality that a section of Ogun State has been consistently denied the topmost leadership position. But beyond structural exclusion, internal fragmentation within Ogun West has also weakened its political bargaining power,” he said.

Senator Bamidele warned that failure to close ranks could once again derail the district’s ambition.

“Multiple aspirants will only split votes. Political parties will bypass the district. External power blocs will dictate outcomes. The cost of disunity in 2027 will be historic,” he cautioned.

In separate remarks, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu (Ogun Central), Senator Lekan Mustapha and Professor Femi Oke described the 2027 election as a rare opportunity to correct historical imbalance in Ogun politics.
